Avoid the salt system

We love our spa. It is relatively easy to maintain, and I spend a lot of time in it. What I do not care for however is the associated cost with the salt ionization cartridge. I wish I would have asked more questions during the buying process to understand that these cartridges only last three to four months each. Each cartridge is costly and the accumulated cost over the life of the hot tub far away is the cost of chemicals!!

Sporadically trips the breaker

Everything is pretty good about this, except the add on salt water system doesnt seem to generate much chlorine. Also a certain zone trips the breaker pretty often, perhaps there water lock?

This is one of the single best investments we’ve ever made. We absolutely love our spa. Not only is it beautiful and well built, we also use it frequently. It does not take long for the temperature to reach the desired range. Our electric bill was not largely impacted. Balancing the water takes practice, but we got the hang of it. I also like the salt water in comparison to chlorine. Highly recommended.

Speaker was not properly sealed when built; so now it needs to be replaced & sealed properly at my expense!
I’m 3 weeks over my 1 year warranty, 1 speaker stopped working. Had the service tech out - no sealant around the speaker when the tub was made & Caldera will not honor this error.
Very disappointing!!!!

Excellent "7 Passenger" Garden Hydrotherapy!

I selected this tub due to a predetermined space in the garden close to the house and as a replacement for an aging above ground pool. The Salina has a recliner seat as an alternate to a lounger. I felt the added 7th seat was advantageous in an alternative to a full lounger seat taking up[ seat space. The size (7 seat) is perfect for 4 people. YES there are 7 places to sit...
The hydrotherapy jets are well placed and are fully adjustable to your specific preferences. The high/low settings of the pumps/jets are great, and divided into 2 zones. Zone 1 only has a 'high' setting, where Zone 2 has a high/low. I'd like to see both Zones with that option.
Another critique would be at the drink holder discs that are moulded into the tub; There are several contours and features that provide a stylish appearance and functionality for the flow control valves, and a few places to place a drink. However, not all seats have a place for your drink. An exterior accessory will definitely be required, but for what I thought would be an easy manufacturing modification... there should be more drink holders.
The lighting system incorporate colourful LEDs that have multiple options and colours, and the control panel is relatively easy to navigate through.
Overall this spa was an excellent addition to our backyard paradise and a great hydrotherapy tool for after all of that yard work!!

The seats are very comfortable and the configuration suits our needs to a tee. The “freshwater salt system is the best thing ever taking all the stress out of sanitation, all the while leaving the water super soft with the vanishing act system.

My wife and I are so excited about our new hot tub! We have been wanting a hot tub for years and we have finally been able to purchase our perfect family tub. This Salina tub is by far the best bang for your buck. The look is awesome, lots of jets and powerful heater. We like the open plan so that we are able to have the kids relax with us and still be able to sit in certain areas to get the effects of the jets!

We purchased a Salina in May 2019 and one year later we are still loving it. I no longer see a Chiropractor or massage therapist. I held back purchasing one for years and now I wish I had done it sooner.
It’s super easy to take care of and it has not been a large expense.

Like to know is why we can’t use a frog or floating bromine pod? Can we? We find having to run clean cycle and add granular bromine after every use a bit hard. Any advice appreciated?? Thanks.

Thank you for your review. I am glad to hear you love your new Salina Spa. Great question about the floater. The reason that we do not recommend using a floater is because of the off-gassing and the larger chemical particles that can break off and can rest on the shell.
When the floater is off-gassing under the spa cover, it can damage it. Also, as the bromine tables begin to dissolve in the floater, larger particles can break off and sit on the shell before it completely dissolves, causing chemical burns on the shell.
Water care can take some getting used to, and I want to make sure that you have all the support that you need. Please look for an email from me.

I love this spa! Because of the COVID-19 shut down, I am not able to transition to saltwater. Once my dealer opens up and I can do so, I will rate this 5 stay. Right now, I'm battling with chemicals, but our town water is also very tough. Love everything else though!

Control problems

Control problems - Turn on one pump and both turn on. Turn on clean and both pumps run. The low speed pump make noise in low speed and is running in high speed. Resetting power helps sometimes. I called service and when they show up is runs OK. Last night the controller was acting strange and the temp. went down to 80 deg. Reset the power to reset contol- OK. You need a upgrade in the software and control. I like everything else about the spa.

First one was delivered and had a major leak. Company came out and replaced within a week (temporary replacement) until mfg could make another in our color selection.
Very nice tub! Filter system does not seem to do as well as there is a "film" on top of water once you turn off the jets.
An improvement could be to the Jets #1 pump/controls - a "low" setting should be added (like #2 pump) which has only an "off" and a "high. "

We have enjoyed the hot tub this far. It is salt water and has been working well. Time will tell if it works better than the other. We still have to add chlorine as needed and seems to run out before the week is up.

We couldn't be happier with our hot tub. We had one before at our other home and loved it, but learned a few things that we took advantage of with our Caldera purchase, like the easy off/on cover and the music option -- a must add on if you love music!! The filter cartridge system is a breeze to keep the water clear and clean. Couldn't be happier and highly recommend Caldera and the Salina model.
