I’ve had spas since the early 1980s, and purchased the Geneva to replace my Master Spa Michael Phelps Legend. Very good quality. Electrical hookup was straight-forward following the electrical diagram provided. Chemical balancing was also easy - just followed the detailed instructions. I love the salt water system and the water quality monitoring on the control panel. I really like the lounger seat and the full massage seat, and the LED lighting is great, particularly the mood lighting option. I only wish that (1) I had more controls for the jets and (2) a way to customize the mood lighting beyond the four pre-programmed options. Very happy so far - the hot tub is very quiet even with both pumps running.

Very expensive and frustrating purchase

This tub did not even come with a manual to operate it by. It only came with quick start material and none of the detailed information about how to run it or access the control panel. Electrical specifications and anything else was not available because there was no owners manual given. The company did not set the water up and I struggled and I’m still struggling to get it balanced.

Fantastic Hot Tub and Spa

Hot tub is everything I hoped for. Great relaxing and melting the day away. Harder to set up (water/salt/chemicals) then I imagined (it was intimidating and owners manual could be better at "first steps" with "how"). Luckily the dealer (Michael) walked us through set up and maintenance (a two plus week process). Once the levels were achieved, its easy to maintain. Glad we made this journey.

Relaxing hot tub

I have had this hot tub for only 1 week. We have used it 5 times so far. The utopia series gives us the ease of water chemistry. In 5 days the chemistry is perfectly balanced already. It is the dead of summer in central Texas with 90+ degree heat outside. The hot tub only needs to be set to 81 to keep it at 95 degrees each night. I haven’t gotten an electric bill yet to tell you if it is costing very much in electric cost.
The jets are amazing and feel great after a hard day. I especially like the jets that work the calves and feet. The wrist jets are great as well. Getting a total body massage by moving around the 6 stations is amazing. The tub allows great relaxation before bed. I can’t tell yet if the value is high after only 1 week of use, but it appears probably so. I love the lights and water feature to make the backyard so lovely at night.

We love the 2 stages for the water jets. The second stage has a lot of power for a deeper muscle massage while the 1st stage is perfect for relaxing.

Our 9 yr. old spa had a bad leak, so it had to go. Replacing with a new salt (fresh) water Utopia series best decision ever. Once the initial balancing the chemistry was complete, soaking in this spa is "heavenly". This because salt water chlorination gets the water to be balanced like saline resulting in a feeling of soaking in "Angel's Tears". This leaving our skin soft and supple and muscles relaxed.

Frustration with Caldera Utopia Geneva Issues

I am reaching out with deep frustration regarding my Caldera Utopia Geneva. Following a recent drain and refill, the touchscreen is unresponsive upon booting up, and I've been consistently dealing with intermittent screen flashing issues. This is especially disheartening as the hot tub is not even a year old. I expected better durability from this product, and at this point, I feel my hard-earned money might have been wasted. Urgent assistance is needed to address and resolve these issues promptly.

While I haven't seen my first electric bill since getting our tub up and running, I'm sure the cost will be worth it. This tub is amazing, providing all the right spots in my body with love and attention from the jets. I'm a physical therapist who spends all day helping others feel better and this is how I get to feel better. I always sleep much better on the nights I've had a good soak and I couldn't recommend this tub more. If you are on the fence, just make the jump. It's totally worth it!!

Great product. Elegant.
The room for improvement is in the level of service. Got my new geneva but the filter cover was chipped. not a biggie but expect perfection as the unit is so elegant.
not that easy to do maintenance too.

Highly disappointed so far. Hot tub arrived scratched and the front panel doesn't snap on flush. The 3rd party seller is working with Caldera to determine the next course of action, but Caldera is requiring them to "repair" the scratches before deciding on a warranty option for the tub. Additionally, this is a salt water tub and was advertised as "easy" to maintain similar to my salt water pool. This is not the case. My pool requires very little effort to keep balanced. I've had the hot tub for 3 weeks now and I've had to add chemicals almost every day we have used the hot tub. The manual even states you have to add chlorine every hour during high peak usage times. Not sure why I have to add chlorine when the salt cell is supposed to handle this.

There are pros and cons to every tub.

This tub is my first time buying new. We have had great success previously with used spas. This time we wanted to treat our selves. The sales lady was great this spa has been good. The lava jets really make a good addition. The other couple features we really like are the self timer and recirculating pump. The neck jet seat is really great. The one thing I’m not sold on is the ease of transition. My husband is an amputee which is why we have a spa. He’s not able to do steps well. The spa is designed funky in the way that there is no level step or spot to step in the tub to get in. It’s all contoured. The other thing is you have to select certain jets on for the water fall to work. The lights are a little primitive. There’s no speakers or stereo.

To date managing the chemical levels has become easier and only requires intervention every 10 days as recommended for the SALT system.
The lounge chair is outstanding. The lights offer a nice ambience. We use it daily for 30 - 60 minutes set at 100 degrees. Outside temps currently are 30s

We have had our Caldera Geneva spa for a few weeks now and I can say that we love using it!
We previously owned a spa about ten years ago and we miss the warm rejuvenating relaxation that comes with a jetted spa. The design is stylish with a modern look and the additional jets and separate jet and pump controls are a nice upgrade. Additionally we love how our skin feels with the salt water system although we have had difficulty getting this balanced after install.
The downside is price! We feel that these spas are overpriced, especially when you start looking at what the price breaks down to as a yearly cost over 10-15 years and the price of maintenance chemicals and mineral sticks.

Overall, I give the Caldera Geneva hot tub 5 stars. It is easy to maintain. I love the Fresh Water Salt System. It has great LED lights throughout. My wife and I relax in it almost every night. I only gave the Geneva 4 out of 5 on comfort because some of the jets could be in better spots, but I still love this hot tub.

New Hot Tub Came Broken

Been on site 3 times, still not fixed. Diverter valve leaks when turn on jets. Now they want to cut into the piping and refit a valve they say is too short and thats what is causing the leak. So, you buy an expensive hot tub, expecting quality and you get poor workmanship. Company hasnt even made an attempt to compensate for the poor quality of the product or inconvenience. I have had tub 3 weeks and its been unusable 6 of those days. At this point, I would not recommend tub or Backyard Leisure. My opinion may change if this gets repaired and they make it right.

We love our purchase back in October 2020. We had to wait till July of 2021 to have it installed. Got it all working by August because of making sure all the electrical was properly done by a Licensed Electrician. Everyone that has come here to enjoy our gatherings has thoroughly enjoyed it. Medically it was the best buy that we ever bought due to many back, foot shoulder, and sciatic issues.
We bought the Covana to raise and lower the covering over it which kept the heat in and vermin and critters out.
I am truly sorry we haven't posted this earlier because we like to make sure we got what we were sold. A great spa and very ergonomic for our bodies. I want to give a shout-out to ROBERTSON BILLIARD SUPPLIES, INC in Tampa Florida, and their sales staff Jenny for being patient with us. I called them a few times on the concrete pad and electrical prerequisites to ensure we did everything correctly. I poured a 6" thick by 10' by 9-foot pad with the electrical conduit under the slab. The unit came with a 50 amp sub panel.
We also haven't noticed hardly any power increase in our electric bill.
Also, the picture is our set with the unit draining to add a new tub of water. I highly recommend using your softened water with it also.

The Geneva & Martinque need to have a baby. I loved my Martinque for 13 years & wanted more jets so I upgraded to the Geneva and am honestly disappointed. If there was a bigger five person with about 45 jets it would be perfect.
There are barely any cup holders compared to the Martinque, the neck jets are a pain and after 4 weeks I still cannot get them adjusted to be comfortable and not spit water in my face, you cannot sit in the two main seats with the jets full force for both at the same time (I could do this in the Martinque). This saltwater system is a complete pain compared to good old fashion chlorine.
It is a nice spa but not near as comfortable and what I was looking forward to.

The Utopia Geneva is our first spa, installed in December 2021 and we’ve been very happy with it so far. There are a lot of jets with this model and a lot of control options (direction, flow, etc), very well engineered. The 2 pumps are powerful and provide good massage action. Water maintenance is so easy with the Freshwater salt system, it takes care of the chlorine, we basically just need to monitor it.
Knowing which valves control which jets and which direction to turn them is not always intuitive, it’s still taking me a while to get used to them but I’ll get there.
The one item on my “wish list”:
Allow temperature adjustment from my smartphone. In 2022, this should be a standard feature. They have some sort of paid service that includes this so I know the hardware is there but for the price we paid for the spa, I think smartphone control should be included. I just want to be able to turn it up/down without needing to uncover the spa. Maybe a future firmware update will give this to us!

In summary … we love it and are so glad we went ahead and bought it. We like that it’s something we are able to use year round (unlike a pool). We are looking forward to many years of use.

This is a excellent hot tub. It can fit up to six people, has multiple massaging jets and can be fresh or salt water. I’ve used mine multiple times a week and it has helped me recovered from physical fatigue and sore muscles.
