Ever since we purchased our Cantabria spa we have loved it. From just a casual soak to healing sore muscles, this spa will do it for you. Also love the lighting and built in Bluetooth system and speakers for music. It has been a pleasure to own thus far and we look forward to many happy years of use.

We have had our Cantabria about 9 months now and use it everyday. We live in the northeast and were very glad we placed it inside a gazebo this past winter so we didn't have to keep shoveling it out! It recently developed a leak in the piping under the lounge seat which our dealer (Treat's Pools) came out and thankfully was able to fix without having to take it out of the gazebo. It advertises that it seats 8 people but I would never try that because if you keep the water level above the jets and put 8 people in it the water will overflow. I have arthritis
and really like the low settings on the jets. The high setting can be too painful at times. I only wish the lounge seat came with a low setting because I originally thought that would be my favorite seat but found I can only stand the forceful jets for a few minutes. There are so many options in seats though you will definitely find a favorite or two. I will say the knobs for the jets are very confusing and we still can't figure out what the 3 knobs closest to the control panel actually do. Most of the time it is just my husband and I in the tub and we move from seat to seat to get the full effect of all the jets. I don't know how I lived without one for so long and I am so glad that I chose this over an in ground pool. We are still working out the chemicals. It came with chlorine chemicals which were inexpensive and very easy to use but you had to put it in every day and it gave me a rash. We have switched to Bacquaspa chemicals and they are more expensive, and much more confusing because there are so many of them. It seems like we are always breathing in their fumes when the jets are on also and it took a while adjusting them so we didn't get sore throats every time we went in. I'm thinking the next time we empty it we will try the Bromine that is supposed to be used with it and a water softener. The dealer had told us our electric bill would increase about $30 a month using it everyday and that might be true if you only run it on the clean cycle for 10 minutes a day. We like to stay in it for 20 to 30 minutes each night so our bill runs about $75 more a month. It also depends on the temperature setting which we kept at 102 in the winter and only lowered it to 100 now that it's warming up outside. Overall, we are very happy with our purchase and believe we have one of the best hot tubs on the market!

My family and I love our Cantabria hot tub. We are a family of 4 and we love it. My husband and I use it the most, my 9 year old uses it as a pool/tub basically for play and my 14 year old loves it for sore legs after soccer games.
I am a runner and exercise a lot and use it for sore muscles as well as a place to relax all year round. We got it in the fall and used it through the winter. It was perfect in the spring and now that its hot summer, we use it as well either early in the morning or at night when the temps are cooler. It benefits you year round.
I'm so glad we got the Cantabria vs a smaller one, because we can spread out and have other people over to use as well.
The cleaning and upkeep of it is easy.
Its my zin place after a stressful long day looking up at the stars in the sky is amazing. Watching the sky change in the warm water is so relaxing.

We love our Cantabria hot tub. Water care is so easy. The 5 different spa seats are wonderful to choose from. The lounge is perfect. We love the sequencer on the lounge. The lighting system is good. The sound system is great.
I wish the fountains were controlled by their own pump so that you could turn them on without having any jets going. We never use the air jets because it is too forceful. Kind of wish the air jet pump had an adjustment on it so that you could reduce power of it. Some fine bubbles would be much better than the force of the full air pump.
We would highly recommend this hot tub.

Warranty Over but still love the spa

We love our hot tub. We've had it for 7 years now. Of course, after warranty it begins to have issues. First the circulator pump broke. We ordered a new one and put it in ourselves. Luckily my husband has the knowledge and skills to do it. A month later pump #2 (2 speed pump) began leaking. The bearings are bad. Since we are currently unemployed, we can't order the $500 pump. My husband disconnected the power to the second pump so we can still use it.
They should have an extended warranty or give discounts on service and parts after the original warranty expires.

We purchased this tub two years ago and couldn't be happier! After a long day a good soak feels great on the back and on the feet. Several jets target different muscles on different seats. The lounge chair has pre-programmed jet cycles which are quite powerful. Two waterfall jets add to aesthetics along with cycling lights of different colors. Best use was in the height of a very cold winter, but water temperature can be lowered for use in the summer so that it can be used year round . The attached cover is a plus and isn't too heavy to open or close with one hand.

We got rid of our pool and bought this Hot tub and could not be happier. We are now in our 50s and the hot tub is a much better match to our lifestyle - We enjoy it almost every evening and enjoy how relaxing it is after working a full day.

In all seriousness, this is a fairly well designed tub. The downside is the first one the shell cracked even with the cover always on it, the the side panel has warped twice under partial exposure to sun as my tub is half sunken in my deck. The jets are nice but the caps keep coming off easily. And the new replacement tub's speaker system is far from as good as the one I had originally bought, where the audio quality of that system was a large reason why I chose the tub over others. The company is taking a long time to address a new issue in having with the replacement tub. Panel buckling, micro speaker cracklings...

Awesome spa! Looking forward to the permanent fix for the jet rings that keep coming off, very annoying. Only negative is the heater shuts down when all the jets are in use, including the lounge. Trying to get a fix for this but it seems like poor engineering. We run the spa at capacity quite a bit and it's not too pleasant to have the temperature start dropping. Stay tuned.

Hello, So sorry to hear about the jet rings that are coming off and the heater shutting down when the spa is in running capacity. The jet rings have a permanent fix and if you contact the dealer they should be able to help you. I would also check to make sure your spa is running on a 70 amp service, as that might be the problem when everything is running and that might be shutting down the heater. Overall this is a very nice hot tub. It fits our family of 4 quite comfortably and is very relaxing. The lounger works just about all parts of the body and the programmed settings allow for a deeper massage for different parts of the body. The Bluetooth capability for music makes it very enjoyable. We love the lighting and the ease of maintenance on this hot tub. The only negative about this hot tub is the hand jet covers seem to pop off rather easily during use and very often.

Great Spa, With Room for Improvement

We love our Catabria spa. The lounger is my favorite seat, but my wife loves the Ecstasy seat, with the shoulder jets that keep you planted firmly underwater.
I will say that the spa still has room for improvement, especially at such a high price (compared to other companies). There have been little airjet covers that will occasionally come off, but we're good at figuring out where they go, and they snap back into place. And no matter how wide we open the Bromine FROG cartridges, our test strips always say that we're low on Bromine.
All in all, we're happy, but we could have also used a walkthrough. If Caldera put up "Getting to know your spa" videos on YouTube (or directed where to find such videos) that showed you what each knob and button does, that would be extremely helpful.
We've recommended this spa to friends and family, and we'll continue to do so.

Ultimate Hot Tub for Entertaining Guests

My husband and I purchased the Caldera Utopia Cantabria back in March 2014, and we're still using it numerous times per week. This is the ultimate hot tub for entertaining guests! It can comfortably seat 8 people, but we've managed to have up to 10 people in it at times. There are so many settings so based on your mood or needs, you can relax in a variety of different seats from the UltraMassage Lounge (best for taller people as shorter people tend to float out of this seat when the jets are on) to the EcstaSeat in the corner where you can relax after a long day of work (it has jets for your feet, back, palms, calves, and neck)! The larger jets can be rotated to control how much water pressure is used because sometimes you just want a gentle jet of water pulsing into your back and sometimes you want lots of jets so it's easy to adjust to exactly what you want. The lights are great for evenings. And the 2 waterfalls are a favorite feature for both adults and especially children (who love to splash around in the falls)! We also purchased the sound system upgrade so we can play music while relaxing in the spa - this was definitely a great add on and worth the extra expense because it's wireless so you can play music from your phone or computer right to the hot tub. With all the amazing aspects of this hot tub come a few words of advice: "normal" usage is 2 people per night for 10-15 minutes. If you are like us and you use the hot tub for an hour or more each time and you also plan to invite the neighbors or have hot tub parties, then you will need to use more chemicals than what the Spa Frog water care system can provide so you'll need to add a few extra teaspoons or tablespoons after each heavy use (4 people for an hour) and you'll actually have to add at least a tablespoon of chlorinating concentrate (or similar chemical) to keep your bromine/chlorine at proper levels or you'll find you'll be emptying and refilling your tub more often than you'd like. And you will also likely encounter the issue of over-foaming, which is caused when the jets are on high and detergents (whether shampoo or body wash or just leftover detergent in bathing suits) creates a ton of foam on top of the water. Kids love it, but it can become annoying so you may want to use a little defoamer to keep the bubbles down. Rinsing off both yourself and rinsing bathing suits on rinse cycle before entering the hot tub will also help keep the bubbles to a minimum. But it's well worth the effort to have this hot tub and it is one of the best purchases we have made! And if you have concerns about the energy efficiency of this model, we were shocked to find that our energy bills did not go up nearly as much as we thought they would - this is one very energy efficient model if it's properly maintained (yes, even in the winter - we enjoyed what we dubbed "snow tubbing" earlier this year). The entire tub is very well insulated, including the cover, which is made out of marine-grade materials, so as long as you cover the tub when it's not being used and keep the temperature constant, your energy consumption will be minimized. We had the electrician install the 50 amp and 20 amp breaker so we could run the jets and the heat pump at the same time. Finally, it is very easy and quick to empty the tub, clean it, and refill it. The reheating part may take up to one full day to get the water up to temperature in the winter, but overall, it takes only a couple of hours to slowly empty and clean the tub and then about 1.5 hours to fill an empty tub. In the end, we absolutely love our Cantabria hot tub and would definitely recommend it to anyone considering a larger hot tub that can accommodate many guests. Our only issue is trying to fend off friends and family who want to visit all the time (we believe just to use our hot tub)! haha

I know a Hot Tub loses heat, I know I live in the Midwest, I know it is outside but....I purchased my WARM Tub in October of last year. I have had a shell crack, yes they fixed it, I have had lights go out, yes they fixed it, I have lost handles, yes they fixed them, you starting to see a pattern. The biggest issue I have is heat! If the temperature is below 20 degrees Fahrenheit it loses heat fast and by fast I mean 1 to 2 degrees every 15 minutes. I have talked to my dealer and he says they can do nothing. Please be aware if you want a Hot Tub and are going to have it outside you will get 30 minutes maximum of Hot Tub time, then you get WARM time and then will be forced to get out because it gets downright cold! They have said it is an efficiency heater trying to be more green…I just want a heater that keeps my Hot Tub hot I will do anything for that!!

Love having a retreat right outside my back door. This is a great spa... easy to take care of water and you do not notice it on your energy bills. Last year we had a polar vortex and never had a problem with the spa.

Great tub No service after Sale

I bought my Hot tub in July of 2013. It works great but I had some cosmetic issues with the side panel coming off. I contacted the San Antonio company I bought it from and they said they would check with the manufacturing company. It is now 9 months later and they still have not fixed the tub. I am very disappointed in Sweet water Hot tubs in San Antonio ,Texas. I do not recommend anybody use this company . Sincerely Dr. Nelson
