I like my spa. However I have had trouble with it as far as the jets go and leaks. The service people have came out 3 -4 times and apparently cant fix it because they were ordering a part and it wasnt replaced.

Our spa was delivered with the panels having significant gaps to the point you can see the inside insulation and frame. I currently have tape over the holes to keep anything out while I wait the 2 moths to receive new panels and corners that might fix the probfix the problem - I was told we might need to order a replacement spa??

We sat in every hot tub in town and ended up selecting the Vanto based on the styling, comfort, and price. We had many problems with the unit over the first 3-4 months that we owned it from vacuum pressure sensors to the main control board had to be replaced. The service from the company we purchased the tub was not as knowledgeable as I expected. When the unit would simply not heat they came out and said the filter was dirty. We had only owned it for a few weeks and the filter was absolutely clean. Once a new vacuum sensor and control board were replaced we then had problems with the ionizer that we purchased as an adder. This is not a Caldera problem but yet another problem by the dealer as they installed the wrong size port. We have also had both heating element couplers break in a span of a few weeks. When this happens it spits water all over the inside of the cabinet, a huge problem in the winter months as this cabinet is un-insulated. The entire tub has to be drained to replace the couplers which means there is a real danger for the cabinet to ice up until the heater can turn back on. I remain nervous that this may happen again as the dealer could not offer any explanation as to why this happened twice in less than a month.
Since all of these initial problems however we have had a trouble free experience with the unit and I'm in it nearly every day. I switched from the included Spa Frog bromine system to regular chlorine as it is easier to keep the water clean with less hassle and a smaller amount of chemistry. The only negative I would say is that our power bill went up $60 or so per month and we expected only $30. With the main cabinet being un-insulated it is no wonder that during the winter the heater runs frequently. I plan to add some insulation to the main cabinet to hopefully offset our high power bill. Everything else about the unit is great. It's comfortable, has enough jets and features to make a great soaking experience and we absolutely love it. Had we been able to avoid the initial problems I would rate it five stars for everything but energy efficiency.

New spa owners do sometimes see a higher energy bill in their first few months of ownership; it is normal to use it more often, invite friends and family to enjoy it with you. As you settle into a regular usage routine, you will probably see that lower electric bill. Also, we DO offer an insulation kit to prevent heat loss from the equipment compartment during the colder months. Your authorized dealer will be able to help get you one in time for winter. We have only had our tub 1 1/2 years. The first month of ownership (Dec 2014) we had to drain the tub. All four foot jet chrome ring covers fell off. So we drained the tub, re glued them and refilled our tub. They have stayed on now. Spring 2015, noticed a panel on the outside of the tub where the lid lifter is attached is cracked. We believe that because of the unstability of the cheap lid lifter, it jerks on the lid on the opposite side that you are using to lift the hot tub lid.Contacted company we bought from at the end of March 2015. End of May we got a call that they will replace the panel(because its under warranty) but we will have to pay mileage for them to come and repair it. We live 75 miles one way from the dealer. Wow, really? Not happy with this situation and don't feel we should pay for parts that are under warranty and obviously defective. Dealer told us they had 4 of them with similar problem.

Though the warranty does state that travel is not covered, he volunteered to waive his travel fee to come out and repair the skirt on your spa. There will be no charge to you for this service call.

Brand new spa leaking all over the patio. I enjoyed this thing for less than a month then the factory picked it up to fix the leak at the factory and it still has not been returned after almost four (4) months...!

BUYER BEWARE

The first cool night we had 9/2020, just 1 month after I purchased my brand new spa 8/2020, the spa could not maintain the heat. It is now three months later. The dealer I purchased it from has still not responded. Caldera still does not respond. And I have a $7000 hot tub that cannot get over 90°. So I now have $10,000 invested between the reinforced concrete slab and the upgraded electrical and the cost of the spa in a hot tub that is set to 106 and does not go over 90 degrees. I have sent photographic evidence of the temperature with three different thermometers and the outside temperature marked. I have had no response from anyone.

Hello Caldera/Watkins PM, why didn't you publish my honest review I submitted a while ago? I bet you won't publish this review either.
The EcoTech walls are terrible; they don't stand up to the southern CA sun. We're located about 12 miles from Watkins' headquarters and have tried to get our cracked EcoTech walls replaced from the store we bought it from and even from Caldera/Watkins; but they fail to do anything since it happened 3 years after we purchased the spa.
If you want to spend your money more wisely, buy a spa from a more reputable company. If you live in a sunny environment, you will *NOT* thoroughly enjoy your Watkins spa 3 years after you purchase it, I guarantee it. So does Watkins since they only guarantee the walls for 2 years. Plus, there is no eco-friendly aspect of these walls since you have to replace them every 2.5 years...

Our experience with this model has not been good. We've had our Vanto model for 6 years and live in Carlsbad, CA. After year 1, the panels on the cabinet started to crack. We had to perform great effort to get replacement panels which were under warranty. Two years later those cracked and of course those were no longer under warranty; very disappointing. We've made this known to Watkins and have sent pictures to the actual product manager of the Vanto model with no admittance to the inadequate cabinet material. If you live in a sunny location, you absolutely must keep your Watkins' "Envirtoech" cabinet spa shaded. Otherwise, the cabinet panels will fade and crack rapidly.

I purchased my spa with the waterfall feature. This no longer works due to a cheap plastic part cracking. It also affects usage of the spa itself as water spews out the opening where the waterfall control should be. I can't purchase the part from the dealer and see no access to parts online at Caldera. It's easy enough to take the apparatus out and replace the part if I could get the part. To replace the part I have to purchase the entire $35 apparatus to get one little cheap plastic part which probably costs less than $1 to make. It just shows a lack of consideration for the customer to even produce the product with such a cheap plastic single point of failure and then on top of that to not provide a way to replace the part.

I am sorry that your spa is in need of service. Replacement parts are available for the majority of the spas we have manufactured for the last 40 years. As it turns out some of the parts in the spa are made/supplied by other manufactures. The waterfall valve that you are referring to is one of those parts. It is supplied to us as one whole unit. I am disappointed with this purchase. I have had a number of tubs over the past 30 years. With this spa there is a connectivity between the filter cycle and the heating of the tub. If you set the tub for 100 degrees, once the tub reaches that temp, the filter cycle stops and does not resume until the tub goes below the set temperature. I like to filter the tub alot as it helps keep it clear without too much chemical intervention. This tub does not allow you to do that because of the connection to the set temperature. As a result the tub does not maintain clarity. My calls to the distributor and manufacturer confirmed that there is no fix for this. Fatal flaw in my opinion

There have been a few complaints on here regarding various models. I like that I can see them, and I like that the company rep responds, however I'd Also like to read the outcome. This is an expensive, frivolous purchase for us, and I want to know that it's either worth the money or not.

The Vanzo has 27 Euro Jets. They began breaking off immediately. For over a year I repeatedly contacted the dealer and manufacturer requesting installation with non-defective Euro Jets. They promised me they would come but never did.
The manufacturer service representative acknowledged the defect in the Euro Jets... "We did have some issues with the materials for the smaller “Euro Jets” during 3rd Quarter 2014 – the jets have been reengineered, thus this should not happen again with the newer style."
I still have missing covers on my Euro Jets :-(

I see that you have been working with one of our senior agents in regards to your jet covers. I am sorry that this was an initial issue. We have sent replacement, redesigned jet covers 3 times over the last year. Even though you have confirmed that they have been received you also admitted to misplacing them. I understand your tub is in a rental unit and may have many tenets come and go.
Even though your spa is not under warranty due to it being in a rental home, we are still trying to do the right thing and provide you with proper jet covers. Perhaps we can send them to your place of business or your primary home.

The first time using this 8 jet covers came off. To date 29 jet covers have been replaced. Within a month a large crack developed. I haven't even had it a year... nothing but problems.

Don't share with you that the ozone generator does NOT work continuously - only when the pump is running - NOT very energy efficient. Gave it away!
Also the backflow valve for the ozone failed after 11 months. Service tech said this is normal!!

Thank you for providing a review of your Vanto spa ownership. I can't tell from your review if you purchased the ozonator at the same time as you purchased the spa. An ozonator does not have motor of its own and depends on the movement of water through the plumbing line to draw ozonated bubbles into the mainstream flow. Also, if this is a Caldera ozonator (there are many brands on the market), I can assure you that it is not normal for the valve to fail within a year. I can't tell from your review if you gave away just the ozonator or the entire spa, so I will write to you directly to ask for more details. I would like to contact your dealer to see what might be done to turn this around for you.
