Overall satisfied with hot tub. It is very good for joint and muscle problems. Also wonderful after a long stressful work day. On the negative, our electric bill has more then doubled. We had been made aware that our bill would increase but we did not expect such an increase. As first time hot tub owners, incorrect set up might have cause the hot tub to run longer then recommended and we have had trouble with the hot tub running all through the night. The water care is not the simplest either.

Really like the look and features of the hot tub. Having trouble keeping it running. Seems to overheat after it has ran for awhile. Have owned for 6 months, problem still not fixed yet.

We are really loving our Caldera Spa! I actually prefer the lounger while my husband prefers the corner seat. I like the ease of the bromine cartridge system. If you are deciding on a hot tub with a waterfall, I really see no reason to have it on your spa. That being said, I don't believe you are charged extra for it, but if you are, then I'd opt out of it!

Very awkward getting in and out over the control panel, not a flat surface for footing. Seats are comfortable but lack laterial support when in third & forth jet stage.
We are back to using our old chemical method ie: floater, shock, perfect PH keep the water perfect clear and shock after every use. The SPA frog water had a constant haze and odor after a few weeks.
We change water every quarter now useing our old method

Tub is good, however did have a problem with discharge lines not properly elevated. This caused water to initially leak in cabinet. Had to pull insulation out of side to secure lines higher than water level to correct. Not an easy job for technician and I to do since insulation is loosely put in.Now to the spa frog inline at ease system incorporated into the spa. To keep it short absolute garbage. Doesn't work period. They have tried to reinvent the wheel and failed miserably. Enough said. I just treat tub as normal with dichlor.

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear the Frog @ease system didn't meet expectations. It is good you've gotten onto a water care plan that works for you, and I would love more info on the issue you experience with the Frog system. Look out for an email from me to learn more!

We purchase our spa just over a year ago and for the past 3-4 months completely stoped using it. We noticed a sticky substance in the water and fully drained the spa out and cleaned it out. After refilling the spa it was still there. We went into the dealer where we had purchased it and we where told it was from body products/oil. We have own hot tubs before and are pretty careful but we thought we can be even more careful, so we cleaned it out again filled it up and the substance was still there. Long story short, we have cleaned it out several, several times and used numerous recommended products and don't even get in the hot tub anymore and still can't get rid of this sticky thick substance. We took a sample to a third party dealer and they said it looks like possibly silicon. We are to the point we just want to get rid of it. If there is anything you can suggest I would greatly appreciate it. The place we made the purchase has been no help at all.

I have a Caldera Marino, and it's reasonably enjoyable. The seating options are good, the jets are strong, controls are nice, and the lights are good. It's a great way to relax and spend to time together.
However, there are some things that I wish were better:
Energy efficiency is a BIG concern. My first winter with the spa, my electric bill increased by 50% for each month that the spa was in use. Before this, I was exactly on par or below my neighbors' usage. (My electric utility provides this info). After installing the SPA, my usage went up by 50% each month, which equates to ~$100/month during the winter. There is NO INSULATION on the front 25% of the spa where the heater, pumps, and control board is located. When the front access panel is removed, you can literally touch the backside of the fiberglass spa shell and feel the heat coming through from the heated water. Also, the SPA FROG system was promised to make bromine dosing EASY. However, even with a fresh bromine cartridges set on max setting, the bromine always reads '0'. This is for multiple bromine cartridges and test kits. The way that I resolve this issue is to use a floating bromine system, in addition to the inline "SPA FROG" system.
By Customer Service Caldera VanessaJuly 11, 2016
I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your spa and finding relaxing.

While your Marino spa does have some of the best insulation available for a portable spa, the equipment compartment does need to be accessible.

However, I can understand your concern, especially during the cold winter months. Therefor, you can use an insulation blanket, it is designed to help keep the equipment compartment warm. It is available at most hardware stores or local spa dealer. Please remember to remove the blanket when the temperature warms up.

While floating devices are not recommend I can see why you would try it. I will email you directly for further water care assistance.

Thank you for taking the time to share your spa experience. calderaspas_brand

The spa part works great. We have had no issues with it in the year and a half we've had it.
Our issue is the sound system. The wireless often does not work. I can no longer get it to work with anything but bluetooth. It won't work with the Ipod connection, or plugging in a line.
When it used to work by plugging in a line, sound would only come through one speaker.

Have tried without luck or response from you to get some help or in put regarding the nasty odor we have....even with changing the water 4 times a year...
Little to no help from the dealer. Makes the whole experience unpleasant instead of enjoyable.

I'm sorry to read that you have not been able to resolve an issue with an odor in the spa. Most often odors are from the water and/or filter. I will contact you directly for more details about the situation so that we can resolve this with you and your dealer.

The heater is to small. Runs all the time when it is cold out. I don't think it is very efficient. It doesn't make sense to put a small heater in for a high efficiency rating, if it has to run all the time when you sit in it in cool weather. Other than the heater it is a nice spa.

I agree with you!

We live in Wyoming and it runs way too much. Our light bill sky rocketed! We have a spring fed well and had a Cal Spa for 15 years that we barely had to maintain, We cannot get the water clear in the caldera or the chemicals balanced. The heater set up is stupid we have to put warm water in it to begin with. It took over 24 hours for it to heat up when we filled it and use a hairdryer to heat the line to 50 degrees to get it started. We bought it for retirement and now dont know if we will be able to afford the electric bill! Delivery and set up was a joke. We have had it for months . We'll see. :(

We bought a spa from your company in the year of 2020 our first spa arrived to us with a major defect they came out and replaced it with another one. Approximately 1 January we noticed us losing water from our hot tub. They called the spa company in which we bought our hot tub from they sent out a service person and seen it we had a leak. The leak has now resulted in corrosion to the pump. We asked for the pump to be replaced they denied it and said it was nothing wrong with our pump. They told us it may look bad but it still works. Our contract with this company runs out in February, I hope to God that pump does not quit on us and then we had to put out more money. Very unhappy with the decision that they had made.

The Frog cartridge holder locks down and will not come out. The top is too fragile. It broke once before when I could not get it out. Even though I put a lubricant on it before inserting it, it still locks up and will not move. I broke it again trying to get it out today. Now I can't get it out to change the cartridges again. I also spent last 2 days having to scrub down the sides. The spa suddenly created a sand-like salt a couple of weeks ago. I did not have time to empty the water again for about 3 weeks. About a week ago the sand started binding to the plastic surfaces. When I finally had to make time this weekend to drain it and scrub it down it was a many hour job. This is the second time this has happened. This time I had not added any solid chemicals so I don't know where this sand-like salt is coming from. Our PG&E bill averages about $80 a month more than it did before. That is with a 220 hook up, which should be the most efficient. We did keep spa in high 90s. Several months ago we put it on the efficient time system in the Manual and lowered temp to mid 90s. That didn't seem to help. At our former home a good sized pool only seemed to add about $100 per month. We thought the spa would cost much less but it doesn't.
I enjoy the comforts of the spa but the scrubbing caused by the scaling to the sides and the irritating and difficult problem of the frog cartridge holder betting locked in so tight that it breaks to try and remove it is ruining our spa experience. Spa was delivered in Dec of 2014
